This course is designed to provide you with knowledge of:

    • Legislation relevant to approved handler requirements under the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017
    • Controls relevant to Classes 6 such as signage, emergency management, secondary containment, spill response, and tracking.

Attendees may apply to become a registered certified handler for acutely toxic 6.1A & 6.1B after successful completion of the course and assessments.

This course is designed to provide you with knowledge of:

    • Legislation relevant to approved handler requirements under the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017
    • Controls relevant to Classes 6 flammable toxic substances such as signage, emergency management, hazardous area, controlled zones, secondary containment, spill response, and tracking.

    Attendees may apply to become a registered certified handler for acutely toxic 6.1A & 6.1B after successful completion of the course and assessments.


    This is a short (approximately four hours, plus additional reading) technical course which will provide you with knowledge of the responsibilities a certified handler for class 6.1A, 5.1.2A Chlorine as defined in the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017.

    Once complete you will receive a certified handler certificate.

    This online course provides a part of the training and instruction required under Regulation 4.5 of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017.  It is designed to provide you with knowledge of Hazardous Substances, including:

      • Substance classes and description
      • Labels and signs for hazardous substances
      • How to read and understand a safety data sheet
      • Awareness of compatibility and segregation of hazardous substances

    This course is designed to provide you with knowledge of:

      • Regulatory responsibilities people using flammable gases and aerosols
      • Identification regulations
      • Control regulations for flammable gas and aerosols
      • Hazardous areas
      • Emergency management
      • Controlled zones
      • Safe handling advice

    Attendees after successful completion of the course and assessment will have gained knowledge regarding flammable gases and aerosols that they work with in accordance with Clause 4.5 Duty of PCBU to provide information, training, and instruction under the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulation 2017.

    This course is designed to provide you with knowledge of:

      • Regulatory responsibilities people using anhydrous ammonia
      • Identification regulations
      • Control regulations for anhydrous ammonia
      • Hazardous areas
      • Emergency management
      • Controlled zones
      • Safe handling advice

    Attendees after successful completion of the course and assessment will have gained knowledge regarding anhydrous ammonia that they work with in accordance with Clause 4.5 Duty of PCBU to provide information, training, and instruction under the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulation 2017.
